THE CAST

Champions of Magic Young and Strange

YOUNG & STRANGE (UK)

Young & Strange started their journey together at 8 years old when their childhood friendship was cemented with a common interest in all things magic. They spent their teenage years attempting, and failing, to make Las Vegas style illusions with cardboard and tape. With little money, they were forced to innovate, creating original illusions and magic tricks – this early experience has led them to become one of the most unique illusion acts in the world.

Their innovative development of spectacular illusions, along with their own live shows, have created opportunities on prime time television, in London’s West End and on the biggest stages around the world.

In addition to Live performances Young & Strange have also created online content which showcases original formats for magic. Their video ‘Young & Strange take Las Vegas to Television’ included the illusionists videobombing the background of a Live Sky News broadcast which went viral on the internet and had over 30 million views across various video sharing networks in just a few days. The Sky News video bomb also garnered attention from national and international publications including Rolling Stone, Time Magazine, Huffington Post, MTV and Cosmopolitan Magazine.

“That secret kept quiet for the rest of your lives will make you one of the best magic acts the world has ever seen”
–Penn Jillette on Young & Strange

Champions of Magic Liberty Larsen

LIBERTY LARSEN (USA)

Liberty Larsen is a fourth-generation magician of the Larsen family, the creators of the Magic Castle™, Genii Magazine and the Academy of Magical Arts.

She has appeared on Penn & Teller’s Fool Us and has performed regularly at many of the most exclusive venues in her home city of Los Angeles. At Black Rabbit Rose, a speakeasy magic club hidden in the heart of Hollywood, Liberty was both theater director and a core cast member, where she and her co-stars dazzled audiences in over 500 shows together.

Liberty grew up fully immersed in the world of magic, with the privilege of watching the best magicians in the world share their love for the craft. Over the years she carved out her own distinct style, with performances ranging from the poetic and enchanted to the mischievously absurd. She loves magic for its unique ability to make people feel vibrant and connected in a single instant through the joy of being in awe.

RAIN A Tribute to the Beatles Alastar McNeil

FERNANDO VELASCO (MEXICO/USA)

Fernando was 11 years old when his father’s job in the restaurant of the Magic Castle gave him an inside look into the world of illusion. Taken under the wing of some of America’s leading illusionists, Velasco was taught the "tricks of the trade", quickly developing his own style and winning accolades and awards from his colleagues in the magic community.

At only 26 years old, Fernando is pushing the boundaries of what a young escapologist can do, and in 2017 became the youngest performer in the world to present his version of ‘Houdini’s Water Torture Cell’ which saw him handcuffed and padlocked upside-down in a sealed 6ft tank of water.

“A magic show worthy of our video game and Instagram times… Mexican-American escape artist Fernando Velasco scores big”
–Paper City Magazine Houston

FAQ

The show runs for approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes including one intermission – due to the interactive nature of the show this is subject to some fluctuation.

Yes! However we do not recommend the show for children under 5 years due to moments of darkness and loud noises, and we do not admit children under 2 as the volume of the show (as with most live performances) could be damaging to their hearing.

We don’t use any actors or stooges in the show so all volunteers are selected at random, however the performers require the assistance of multiple people throughout the show so you have a good chance of being involved!
